We hadn’t seen much rain since Texas more than six months ago, and boy did Minnesota let us have it! It rained so hard and fast that we actually had to move our RV in the middle of the storm to make sure we didn’t end up parked in several inches of standing water. That made for a bunch of really fun splashing around after the weather moved away though, and since we hadn’t had any real rain in so long we all got out there and got soaking wet.
This all took place after a super long moving day – almost 600 miles! We broke that drive up with a couple stops, including a hike at the Painted Canyon in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It’s not a very long hike, but it is certainly beautiful and offers some really great views of the landscape and even some local wildlife. After we got done with the hike all the kids fell asleep for quite a while, so we had a nice quiet drive across North Dakota.
