San Diego has way more than just the best zoo in the country – there are national monuments, tide pools, beaches, and parks galore! On our second day in town we went all the way out to the Cabrillo National Monument where there is a lighthouse, World War 2 bunkers, and tide pools. We spent several hours exploring everything, and even got to see an entire Naval fleet come back into port for Mother’s Day! Our final day in San Diego found us at the Imperial Beach Pier. There was so much to see and do in the area, and we had the best weather for our visit! The kids loved seeing the big waves from above on the pier and then we found a huge piece of beautiful grass and horsed around for a while ?
We fell in love with San Diego! Next time we’re on the west coast we are definitely going to spend more time down in that area. We barely scratched the surface of that beautiful city and know that there’s a ton more waiting for us!
